GoldVet Microencapsulated Potassium Citrate Granules have an antioxidant effect and are loaded with Omega 3 fatty acids and amino acids that promote protein and enzyme synthesis and support healthy cardiovascular, immune, and kidney function. Since calcium binds to citrate instead of oxalate, and potassium raises the pH of a pet's urine, these granules are highly effective at inhibiting the formation of one of the two types of urinary stones. Susceptible cat breeds include Persians and Himalayans, while the dog breeds at especially high risk include miniature schnauzers, lhasa apsos, Yorkshire terriers, miniature poodles, shih tzus and bichon frises. 73% of calcium oxalate patients are male and most cases in dogs occur between 5 and 12 years of age.
