Product Description

Just like the human epidemic, over 55% of the cat population is overweight. Even a little extra weight can impact the pets quality of life and its relationship with family members because that extra weight may: reduce play time, put your cat at risk of urinary conditions like bladder stones, and negatively affect the lifelong general health of your cat. Stress has also been shown to negatively impact bladder health as well.Hill's nutritionists & veterinarians developed Prescription Diet Metabolic + Urinary Stress Feline clinical nutrition especially formulated to help manage your cat's weight and urinary health. In fact, the nutrition in Metabolic + Urinary Stress Feline has been shown to reduce the recurrence rate of the most common urinary signs by 89% AND to reduce body weight by 11% in 60 days and contains ingredients to help manage stress.

Hill's Prescription Diet Metabolic + Urinary Stress Feline provides all the nutrition your cat needs during weight loss and maintenance while improving urinary health and managing stress. Please consult your veterinarian for further information on how our Prescription Diet foods can help your cat to continue to enjoy a happy and active life.*Urine pH of individual cats may vary due to complicating factors such as time of feeding before urine collection, type of urine collection, individual animal variation, and test methodology.

Animal feeding tests using AAFCO procedures substantiate that Hill's Prescription Diet Metabolic + Urinary Stress Feline provides complete and balanced nutrition for maintenance of adult cats

Transition Instructions

Gradually transition to your pet's new food over a 7 day period.

Day Daily Feeding Amount
Days 1 - 2 75% Old Food, 25% New Food
Days 3 - 4 50% Old Food, 50% New Food
Days 5 - 6 25% Old Food, 75% New Food
Day 7 100% New Food

Most pet's readily accept these foods, but some are more reluctant than others to give up what is familiar to them. If your pet does not easily switch, you may want to try one of the following suggestions:

  • Warming the food or adding warm water enhances the foodS smell and flavor.
  • Do not leave food available at all times. Consider meal feeding every 3 to 4 hours, 15-20 minutes each time.
  • To help enhance the flavor of both dry and canned food, add a small amount of low-sodium chicken broth or the liquid drained from tuna canned in water when transitioning your pet from one food to another. (Do not use this tip for Prescription Diet® z/d® or d/d® pet foods.
