Ultimate Guide to Frontline Gold For Cats
Meet the Cat's Pesky Problem Treatment: Frontline Gold For Cats!
Frontline Gold For Cats is a triple-action formula that kills adult fleas, flea eggs and larvae, and adult ticks! It is a monthly spot-on waterproof treatment that protects your cat for the next 30 days. From a new pet parent to a Frontline expert, Frontline Gold for Cats guarantees an easy-to-use and effective solution to your cat's pesky pest problem!
How does Frontline Gold For Cats work?
Frontline Gold For Cats contains three active ingredients - Fipronil, (S)-methoprene and Pyriproxyfen - that kill adult ticks and fleas at every step of their life cycle. Frontline Plus for Cats kills the parasites on contact by storing itself in the oil glands in their skin and hair follicles continuously for the next 30 days.
Active ingredient Fipronil is a phenylpyrazole insecticide that disrupts the adult flea's and tick's central nervous system by blocking certain channels that regulate cellular excitability and control insects' movement, feeding, and behavior. Fipronil causes hyperexcitement to the contaminated insect's nerves and muscles.
Active ingredients (S)-methoprene and Pyriproxyfen are insecticide chemicals that control and eliminate the next generation of hatching flea eggs and larvae before they can develop into adult breeding fleas.
How to apply Frontline Gold For Cats?
Frontline Gold For Cats is a monthly spot-on treatment applied between a cat's shoulders and protects continuously for the next 30 days. Place the easily opened applicator on exposed skin and squeeze the tube's entire contents. Each Frontline Gold box has six-monthly packs meant for cats of ALL body weights.
Make sure that your cat is completely dry before application, such as after a bath.
How does Frontline Gold For Cats work after the application?
After application, the Frontline Gold products start killing fleas after four hours and effectively kill 100% fleas after 12 hours. Frontline Gold For Cats' active ingredients causes the parasites to move to the surface of the cat's coat as they die. You may start seeing more fleas leaving from your cats, which means that it is working.
After application, keep your cat from getting wet for 24 hours, so that the treatment is waterproof for the next 30 days after.
